Kalymnos is best known as home of the Sponge Divers, but the island has so much more to offer. 

The day starts at 9 a.m. at the harbor of Mastichari where we board with our bus the ferry to reach Pothia less than an hour later.

Our first stop takes us on a hill housing the picturesque Monastery of Agias Savvas, to enjoy an amazing panorama over the capital town and harbor.

Leaving the animated capital behind us, we take the road leading us to the more peaceful side of Kalymnos.

Arriving in Myrties, we immediately see the islet of Telendos rising across the water.

We continuously admire on the left the infinite Aegean Sea and the surrounding islands, and on the right the imposing rock formations and caves. These cliffs have built the reputation of the island as one of the best climbing spots in the world, attracting every year thousands of athletes.

After a small trip we get to the picturesque seaside village of Emporios. The guests can enjoy some free time, swim, or wander at their ease along the peaceful seaside, before enjoying their lunch at the local tavernas.

Next, we hit the road to go back to the main harbor of Pothia taking a different route than the morning.  This allows us to cross the beautiful citrus valley of Vathi and enjoy its green landscapes.  Vathi, is another fishermen’s little village, where the guests can enjoy the unique landscape and taste some local deserts and drinks. On the way back to Pothia, a small stop is made for photo shooting.

The afternoon is spent at Pothia, visiting a traditional sponge factory and learn more about the sponge industry before heading back to Kalymnos port and return to Kos.
